Kawai | K5000w |
Description | With the K5000W Advanced Additive Workstation comes the dawn of a new era of sound synthesis. K5000W Creative Functions are organized in two modes: Performance Mode and Compose Mode. Performance Mode Although it's called a workstation, the K5000W is also a powerful performance machine. In addition to Kawai's new Advanced Additive technology, we've developed a totally new library of PCM samples for K5000W. With 32 oscillators, 341 waveforms, and 325 drum waves, this completely separate sound engine delivers all the capabilites of conventional PCM-based synthesisers. SINGLE BANKS Individual Advanced Additive and PCM patches are arranged into 3 separate banks for easy access. Advanced Additive Bank Loaded with 60 remarkable factory patches, this bank features a variable memory scheme that can hold up to 128 patches at one time. General MIDI Bank The classic 128 General MIDI sounds are permanently stored in this bank. With Kawai's new PCM sample library, this collection of acoustic and electric instruments, synths, and effects have never sounded better! B Bank 128 additional PCM patches are located in this bank, 48 user patch locations provide ample room for your own PCM synthesis creations. COMBI BANK The incredible synthesis power of the K5000W comes to life in the Combi Bank where 4 zones of additive and/or PCM single patches can be combined. Layers, splits, zone warps, and velocity switches are all possible using any mixture of patches from any of the 3 single banks. A combined total of 64 oscillators delivers sonic creations that must be heard to be believed. EFFECTS An expansive array of effect algorithms, plus reverb and EQ are available for application in any Single or Combi patch. 37 types of effects, from Choruses and Flanges to Stereo Delays and Distortions, are accessed through 4 parallel effects buses. In addition, 11 different reverb types can be applied, along with a 7 band Graphic Equalizer. All effects data including routing and algorithm parameters are stored into patch memory. Effects, reverb and EQ are also available in the Compose Mode. Compose Mode A 40,000 note, 40 track sequencer gives you lots of room to spread out and compose any type of music on the K5000W. With 32 part multi-timbrel flexibility, you can take full advantage of the on-board Advanced Additive and PCM sound engines. Dual MIDI implementation gives you further sequencing power through the integration of 32 channels of external sound sources. A full complement of advanced editing functions gives you the confidence to leave your computer at home. Perhaps the most impressive aspect of the K5000W's Compose Mode is our unique set of composer's tools. APG Kawai's exclusive new APG (Auto Phase Generator) was developed to assist composers and song writers in the creation of many types of music. After analyzing your recorded music, APG creates new music parts and prints them onto sequencer tracks. The composer can then mix and edit the music in any usual way. APG saves the composer time and trouble, allowing them to focus on more critical aspects of composition. APG also gives the composer the ability to quickly create sequenced music of very high quality, regardless of their keyboard skills. CHORD ADVICE Kawai's new Chord Advice tool offers composers suggestions for new chord changes based on the harmonic content of the music. Chord Advice is very helpful for creating turn-arounds, bridges, and key changes in your music. It can also be a source of inspiration during an inevitable episode of "writer's block". |

Velocity | As with a piano, the harder you hit a key, the louder the sound, unlike most organs which always produce the same loudness no matter how hard you hit a key. | Aftertouch | Pressing a key after you activated it. Channel Aftertouch, no matter which key, it will send a Channel message. Poly Aftertouch, sends the pressure per key instead of the whole channel. |
Values for OSC, LFO, Filter, Envelope are per voice unless stated otherwise. |
